Q-Racing V2.01b OUT NOW!

shot1.jpg (19397 bytes)

Q-Racing V2.01b is available to download here now!  Only 3.9 mb!  All you need is a recent version of Quake 2 (3.17 or later) and... erm... nothing else actually - that's just how easy Q-Racing is to use! You can even use it without Q2 - just install the 3.20 release patch and add your 3d card DLL to the Q2 dir and off you go! This is how good Q-Racing really looks! All the time!

See the 'Q-Racing info' section see for more details.

Q-Racing V2 - Source code

Q-Racing V2's source code is here to download for anyone who's interested or want's to compile for Linux - I've had numerous requests. I'm a bit embarrassed to do this though (as was John Carmack when he released Quake C) as the code is a lot of crap - almost solid hacks! Though a 'hack' is just a (more messy) way to solve a problem - in a sense what programming is all about. I don't know what you can use to compile it - I used Microsoft Dev Studio. Q-Racing uses almost none of the Quake 2 game code - only the standard functions. About a third of the code is in p_view.c, half is in scam.c (A remnant of our failed Quake 2 project!) - the other (whatever fraction) is dispersed throughout many other files, especially p_client.c.

Q-RACING TRACK MAKING GUIDE - V2

By popular demand I've written a track creation guide for Q-Racing. It is a detailed HTML file with pictures detailing what apps need to be used and how to use all the entities required. It also includes the .MAP version of 'Table Top Terror' for your inspection to be loaded into any editor. If anyone creates a good track and mails us the zip we'll get you (with photo if provided) and your track to download on the site and chances are it'll go on many cover CDs as well.

TOTAL OBLIVION (v1.07)

Total Oblivion, one of the best mods for Quake 1, is still available from Flitsoft!

Coded by Adrian Flitcroft, this mod adds a huge amount of great weapons including a Tesla coil, tripwire mines, a flamethrower, a chainsaw and a unique twist on the pipebomb launcher.  For the single player, there is a revolutionary grunt helper-bot which features communication with the player, intelligent hunting of enemies, use of the new TO weapons, understanding level layouts including strafing to avoid projectiles and sharing armour and health with the player. Please Note: This does not work properly with GLQuake.
