- AFK
This stands for "away from keyboard". People
use this instead of /away.
- bah
This term is used when one has gotten to the point that
they have nothing to say since they are extremely
frustrated/angry. Usage: "bah"
- BBIAB
This stands for "be back in a bit". This is can
be used when you have to leave and youre gonna be back.

- BBL
This stands for "be back later". People say
this when they have to leave for a little while.
- BFG
This abbreviation stands for "Big Fucking Gun",
a nostalgic weapon from Doom, Doom2, and Quake2.

- bleat
This is the mating call/general noise that allama makes.
It is also the noise you hear coming from the good ol
neighborhood g0at/llama pr0n sanctuary. Or not.

- Boomstick
Used to refer to the shotgun in DOOM and
now Quake/Quake II. The referencecomes from the movie
"Army of Darkness" starring Bruce Campbell and
created by Sam Raimi.

- BotS
This stands for "Battle of the Sexes" which is
a modification located here.
- BRB
This stands for "be right back". People say
this when they have to leave for a little while.

- BTW
This stands for "by the way". People say this
when they have something to add to what they just said.

- camper
A camper is a player who remains in a strategic location
for prolonged periods of time (usually scoring some easy
kills). This tactic is frowned upon by many players.
- clan
A 'Quake Clan' is usually a group of
friends that get together and play online games together.

- Coop (co-op)
This stands for "cooperation" which is a mode
in online play in which you and your friends (or not)
play together against the enemies.
- Crossdresser
This term is used to describe the player that plays on a
server with teams enabled by pant color but changes his
top color to match the opposite team. This term is used
in classic Quake.

- CTF
This usually stands for Capture The Flag. There are many
variations of this. The Quake2 version by zoid can be
found at id
Software's site.
- D2
This is used when you are talking about
"Doom2". It is also the name of what is
officially Emilio Esteves' worst move, Mighty Ducks 2.

- DM
DM stands for DeathMatch. This is where you and your
buddies (or not) stomp the hell out of each other in an
online game.

- DW
This is an abbreviation for "Doomworld", a
popular site dedicated to Doom and uhh...Doom..

- FaF
"Fire and Forget" missiles. Used in Deadlode Team
Fortress; used as a pejorative. Can also be used to
describe air to air combat missiles such as the AMRAAM.
- FAQ
This stands for "frequently asked questions".
These are little pieces of literature written to give you
the lowdown on something.

- FFA
"Free for all". is a type of DM play with no
teams. It can also stand for "Future Farmers of
America" for you ag boys.

- frag
Frag represents a kill in online deathmatch games. Word
history: A "frag" was a kill on your own
side in Vietnam. You were fragged by a higher ranking
officer if you ran from combat and the line of fire.
Since we are all human's in DooM/Quake/Quake2, we are all
on the same team. Hence, the term frag.

This can stand for one of two things, one of which being
"fuck you" and the other being "fragmented
underoos" but I hope you dont hear the second part
(see PEDOPHILE)

This can be used to state "fuck" in a l33t way.
past tense: fux0r3d.

- FvF
This commonly means Future vs. Fantasy which is a Quake
conversion.

- FYI
This is short for "for your information". It is
used when expressing an opinion or a fact (see IMHO and
IMNSHO).
- gagaga
Coined by 3DNet regulars, this is a way of laughing as is
"hahaha". Beware that most 3DNet ops do not
like this style of laughing as they associate it with the
work of the devil.
- GG
This stands for "good game". It is usually said
after an online games ends in which either you get
slammed, you slam the opponent, or it is actually a good
game..

v. to turn a person/creature into a pile
of meat chunks. n. the chunk of meat left over after a
body explodes. pronounced "jib". (How did you
miss this one, Skewbone? --Bone ]Tards[ ) heh

- GL
Can stand for "grenade launcher", "OpenGL", or
"good luck"
- H2
This can be used in place of "Hexen 2" or
"Heretic 2".
- h4x0r
Wannabe hacker (see llama).
- HPB
This stands for "high ping bait". This is what
people with slow conections are called when they play
online games.

- HPW
This stands for "high ping whiner". This is the
guy that sits there and complains over and over again
about how bad his ping is but he stays on the server
cause he is l33t.

- HW
HW is short for "Hexenworld", which is an
enhancement to the Hexen2 engine for faster internet
TCP/IP play (see QW).
- IMHO
Stands for "in my humble opinion". This can be
used when someone says a nonfactual tidbit which may
cause some controversy. ooh look out.
- JB
This stands for JailBreak. JailBreak is a mod for Quake
based upon breaking out of jail uh huh huhuh.
- jejeje
Coined by 3DNet regulars, this is another way of laughing
as is "hehehe" (see beware notice in gagaga).

- JK
This stands for "Jedi Knight", a first person
shooter game based on a type of character from the Star
Wars series.

- JN
This is used when you are talking about that popular Jedi
Knights news/general info domain called Jedi Nights.

- Jogger
This term is used to describe those individuals who are
timing out in an online game. In Quake2, they seem to be
jogging in place.
- k
This can be used in place of "okay",
"o.k.", or, as Buckwheat says,
"otay!".
- k-rad
Something said by llamas. Ususally a term in the
miniscule vocabulary of a h4x0r.
- leet (l337 or l33t)
This is the leet way to say "elite". Its used
alot in IRC and throughout 1v1/teamplay.
- LG
This abbreviation stands for "lightning gun", a
weapon from Classic Quake.
- Linux
Lin-ucks: The OS of the gods. Actually, its a unix
operating system for the PC. There is more info at www.linux.org. And the
PROPER pronunciation is here.
- Llama
Lamer; otherwise meaning fool, idiot, loser, Tr0nik, etc.

- LOL
This usually means "laughing out loud". Its
said when someone wants to give you the impression that
they are laughing out loud.
- LPB
LPB stands for Low Ping Bastard. Its a term people use to
describe people that play online Quake with a high speed
connection.
- MSG
This can stands for "message" or monosodium
glutamate. The second definition isnt used often when
pertaining to games.
- NQ
NQ stands for NetQuake. This is the standard online
version of Quake that everyone played before QuakeWorld
came out.
- OMG
This stands for "oh my God". Its easier to say
than "hey, BBC-Skew". Simplicity is the key...
- OT
This stands for Don "onethumb" MacAskill and
"overtime" uh huhhuh.

- owned
Past tesne of getting beaten in a game. Most commonly
used by people that play teamplay / 1v1, where reputation
of skill is of the utmost importance. Usage:
"Frag master owned llama" Fragmaster beat llama
(in a 1v1 game assumed). Can also be used with clans:
"ZT owned ck"
- PC
This is what most "TC's" (see TC) are actually
are. Includes some new maps, new weapons, some new
textures, and occasionally some new monsters.

- Pent
This is short for "pentagram of protection",
the invulnerability item in classic Quake.

- PGL
"Professional Gamers League".

- Phat
Pretty hot and temping.

- Phear
This is the correct spelling of the word fear (a horrible
and grotesquely mishapen word it is).
- Pineapple
This is another term for the grenade.

- Pineapple Launcher
This is another term for the grenade launcher (see
pineapple).
- PK
PK stands for Painkeep which is a deathmach mod from Team
Evolve.

- PPM
This acronym can be used instead of "plug in player
model".

- PQ
PQ stands for PlanetQuake, which is a rather Quake
related site.

- pr0n
Pornography. End of discussion.
- Q2
Q2 stands for Quake2, the new game from id Software.

- Q3
Q3 stands for Quake 3, the upcoming title from id
Software utilizing the trinity graphics engine. The Quake3 FAQ
is full of information about it.

- QG
QG stands for QuakeGod, the brother of Raven, the owner
of TeleFragged.
He usually goes by the name of qg|away even though he is
never away.

- QW
QW stands for QuakeWorld. QuakeWorld is an enhancement to
Quake classic which alows for faster and smoother online
Quake games. More info is available at
www.quakeworld.net.
- RA
This stands for Rocket Arena which is a popular Quake
modification. It can also stand for "Red Armor"
for you classic Quake fans.

- Raven
This is a large bird with a wingspan of up to 4 feet. It
is the main character in Edgar Allen Poe's, "The
Raven". Raven is also the owner of TeleFragged. He is
the human incarnation of the operating system Linux.

- RG
This is a new term that stands for "Rail Gun",
a weapon from Quake2.

- RJ
This stands for Rocket Jumping. To perform this feat, you
aim down and shoot a rocket and use the blast to propel
yourself skyward.

- RL
This stands for Rocket Launcher, the most feared weapon
in Quake1. This can also be used as a substitute for
"Real Life".

- ROFL
This usually means "rolling on the floor
laughing". Its used by people that are on their
computers and are rolling on the floor laughing.

- ROFLMAO
This is stands for "rolling on the floor laughing my
ass off". Its used when someone laughs harder than
they do when they would normally say ROFL.

- rox
This term is used in place of "rockets", the
ammo for rocket launchers/grenade launchers in Quake1 and
the rocket launcher in Quake2.

- RTFM
This stands for "read the fucking manual". Its
usually said to someone that asks question before reading
any help or documentation that came with what they need
help on..
- sCary
sCary is some crazy guy that sits in his shuga shack and
writes wack ass stuff all day. sCary, if you wanna change
this info, you gotta e-mail me yourself
;)
- shaft
This is a term that refers to the Lightning Gun from
Quake1. It also stands for that complicated man. You
know, that one bad motha, shut yo mouf!

- spam
Spam is an animal byproduct in a can. It can also be used
to describe an excessive amount of junk messages/e-mail
from one source. Word history: Spam came to be a
computer term from Monty Pythons Flying Circus spam kit
where everything on the menu contained spam in it.

To get beaten severely or to be patted hardly on the
buttocks. (see owned)

- spooge
This is another term for, heh, jizz or "sperm".
Its said alot to describe a persons reaction to many
things such as "Quake3 screenshots" and
whatnot.

- SPQ
This stands for "single player quake".

- sup
Another way of greeting someone. Sup is short for
"what's up?". It is usually trailed by the
smart ass remark "the sky".
- TC
TC stands for "total conversion". A total
conversion is when someone changes every aspect of a game
except for the engine itself.
- TEN
"Total Entertainment Network".

- TF
Tf can stand for 2 things. It can stand for TeleFragged
(an all purpose gaming site) or Team Fortress (a popular
mod similar to CTF)

- traitor
This term is used to describe people that are in
"deep cover" or are
"spies"/"espionage kingpins". This
term is used in team games such as Team Fortress and
Capture the Flag.
- UGO
"Unified Gamers Online"; not to be mistaken
with "yugo", my pimp ass ride.
- UIN
This stands for "Universal identification
number". A unique UIN is assigned for everyone that
uses ICQ. This number is used by Mirabilis ICQ to
message and chat with people. It is almost an instant
messaging system.

- WB
This stands for "welcome back". It can be said
sarcastically or as a greeting.

Similar to "preach on, brotha" and
"amen!". Usage: "Werd to yo motha".

This term is used to exclaim extreme happiness or to show
people that you are a Fightin Texas Aggie. Whoop!.

Wood is generally used in place of "boner",
"stiffy", "chubby", or "my
e-wrecked shaft".

This stands for "Wheel of Time", a popular
series of books written by Robert Jordan. There is also a
Wheele of Time game being developed using the Unreal
engine.
- WTF
This can stand for "where the fuck", "why
the fuck", "who the fuck", "what the
fuck", and "when the fuck".

This stands for "who the hell", "what the
hell", "when the hell", "where the
hell", and "why the hell".

This stands for WarZone,
another site dedicated to games.
