FYI

First, some of these links may still be broken. I've think I've fixed them all, but I may have missed something. If you hit a broken link, try looking for the file here:

3D Downloads.com File Directory
There are some additional files there that are not listed on this page, so if you can't find what you're looking for, give it the above link a try.

Second, some of you may be using DownloadAccelerator (a great program.) Unfortunately, it has a problem downloading from any server that limits the number of "connections" that are open at one time. I've run into this problem myself from time-to-time. 3D Downloads is a site that limits your connections, so you'll need to temporarily bypass DownloadAccelerator by right-clicking the tray icon (yellow and red lightening bolt.) Then select Disable Clicks Monitoring from the pop-up menu.

Yes, I wish DownloadAccelerator would work, but the download service and server space is all provided for FREE, so I can't complain. And neither should you, since Ty and I would not be able to provide Wally as freeware without a free hosting service.

*** Update: A new version of DownloadAccelerator has been released. It seems to fix the download issues! You can get it here:

Main Wally Download

Currently there's a single zip that you need to run Wally. If you have trouble with the New York server on 3DDownloads, try the one in Texas. If you are having problems with 3DDownloads.com, try one of the mirrored locations below.

Thanks to our friends who've put up the mirrors!

Grab the following file:

Download Wally v1.55b from 3DDownloads.com
Download Wally v1.55b from TeleFragged.com
Download Wally v1.55b (mirror) from Draconic's site
Download Wally v1.55b (mirror) from HQH's site
Download Wally v1.55b (mirror) from The Wadfather

Wally Now!
Wally Now! button, created by Adam Cooper

Run this self-extracting program and pick a directory to install. Once it's exploded everything all over your computer, just run Wally.exe. That's all there is to it.

If you need an older version:

Download Wally v1.54c (6/19/2001)
Download Wally v1.53b (1/12/2001)
Download Wally v1.52b (12/31/2000)
Download Wally v1.51b (04/23/2000)
Download Wally v1.50b (03/17/2000)
Download Wally v1.49b (02/15/2000)
Download Wally v1.48b (11/25/1999)
Download Wally v1.43c (10/16/1999)
Please note!
If you install an older version after installing one that was newer, you will more than likely run into problems with the older version. The problem lies in the registry keys that are added with newer versions, and them being incompatible with the older ones. To fix this, delete the entire HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team BDP\Wally key and re-run the older version. That should fix any problems with starting the app. As you might expect, older versions have bugs in them that we've since fixed, so use them at your own risk. We do not support these older releases. People have requested older versions on occasion, mainly when a new bug crops up that necessitates using a version that doesn't have the bug.

General Information / Uninstall

Wally stores its information in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team BDP\Wally". There is no uninstall operation, because we do not include or install any custom DLLs. In the default configuration, the only registry settings we make are to our own key, so we're not infringing on any other application or operating system section. To uninstall completely, you just delete the directory you extracted Wally to and that's that.

That said, we do allow you to pick Wally as the default file association for various image types that Wally supports. Such as BMP, JPG, WAD, WAL, etc. When you choose to associate Wally with these types, Wally will stow away any current choice for those image types and attempt to put them back when you later change your mind. In order to even do that, you have to use Wally to put the changes back. There is no default clean uninstallation procedure for Windows (hence why software companies even make CleanSweep-type applications) and one of the biggest problems is this file association issue. So long as you used Wally to create the association, you follow the same steps and just uncheck the association to return to your old settings.
