Saturday, April 10th 2002
It has been a long, long, LONG time before the last update. I'm really busy with my new job, and, unfortunately, I didn't got time to do any progress in any version of Wyrm.
Also, the main reason I didn't develop the Q3 mod anymore is that the game goes very slow on my machine, so it's unplayable. I'll be getting a new machine later this year, but it will be used for... DOOM 3!!
With a bit of luck, I'll be able to do something cool with it, so stay tuned! And thats for visiting the site (if anyone still visits it!!).
Also, I uploaded a very early version of the Wyrm 3 webpage. It isn't so good, but I had it into the hard drive and it was just a moment to upload.

After a week of work, I'm releasing the alpha 2 of my mod :) it has a replacement for the BFG: the Shrink Ray!

I've uploaded the first version of Wyrm 3... I'm working on more features and a webpage for it :)
This version contains custom classes, wich you may remember from Wyrm 2. You may get it here (removed).

Yes, I'm alive!
I'm working into the beta 4 version of Wyrm 2, wich is nearly finished... it contains a lot of new weapons, and a lot of cool stuff (you can say "mutilations").
Also, I'm thinking on Wyrm 3. I want to make it a cool thing. There will be news on it soon :)

Friday, October 15th
There has been more than a month since the last update... at the moment, I'm not working in Wyrm 2 anymore... I think that beta 3 will be the last version. If there are bugs on it, I'll make a fix, but there won't be any new versions. I'll begin to work into a Q3:A mod when the code becomes avaiable, so keep an eye into this page ;)
Er... My e-mail account hasn't worked into the last month, so if you sended me a mail, I couldn't read it... So, please, re-send it.

Monday, August 2nd
I'm STILL working on the new release... some of the new completed features are:
  • Class info in menus
  • New maps (by Auhsan)
  • New weapons (Nuke and Perforating Rockets)
  • Scanner (based on the one from Amorphous Quake, but very modified by myself :)
  • Tons of bug fixes

Now I'm working on some new features... like 2 new monsters (Hammerstein and Barret), more weapons (like Auto-Sentry and Kick), the html manual, a new conback.pcx, the new version of Wyrm Editor... well, it will take me a bit of time to finish all this stuff, but I'll try to be as fast as possible :P
Also, I updated the Wyrm 1 downloads page, fixing the bad links.

Tuesday, July 6th
After 2 months of inactivity, I'm working again on Wyrm 2. The next release will be out soon, and will include 2 or 3 maps, more weapons, fixes... it will be out in a week or two.

There is a guy that is making some maps for Wyrm 2. The first one should be posted soon :)

Well.. I'm working hard on the Wyrm 2 beta 2 release. It will include the final version of Wyrm Editor (with RWS support), and the source code. Also, I would like to add an html manual :)
I hope that the last release will be out this month.

Wyrm Editor 0.1B has been released... it is a Windows program that let's you edit your own class system for Wyrm 2 in a simple and visual way...
You may get it here.
Just unzip it into your Wyrm directory, and read the "we.txt" file.
Finally, I've decided not to add Wyrm to the Gladiator's game source... I think that the result wouldn't be as good as I would like.
I'm working in the last release of Wyrm 2... it will be Wyrm 2 beta 2. It will contain some bug fixes and a bunch of new features :) After it... I may do a Half-Life or a Q3:A mod, but I'm not sure :P

Uhm... there has been nearly a month from the last update. Sorry, but I've been really busy :)
I've downloaded the Gladiator Bot game code... I think that adding the Wyrm 2 source to it wouldn't be difficult, so I'll try to :).
I've uploaded a version with some fixes (like the bad saving)... you may get it here (removed). Unzip it into your wyrm2 directory.
I've spent the last 5 days playing Half-Life... I think that it is the best game I've played so far. The AI is impressive, the history, awesome... I may work on a mod as soon as Valve releases the game dll source...

I've been working on some fixes for Wyrm 2 beta 1... I may release a patch called "Wyrm 2 b1 fix" soon.
I'm working on a class editor based on Visual Basic. I may send some screenshots here someday...
I'm looking for some talented level designers in order to include some maps on the next release of Wyrm 2, so if you're good with mapping, and would like to make maps for Wyrm, just send me a mail.

Wyrm 2 beta 1 has been released!
Here you've a list of the new stuff:
   - The code has been completely ported to the 3.20 codebase
   - CTF
   - Custom Classes (you may define up to 32 classes :)
   - RWS (probably, the most configurable weapon system ever made)
   - A lot of new weapons and items
   - Ground Zero enhanced AI for monsters

Well, there will be a release real soon. There are a bunch of new features and weapons...
It adds, for example, a really customizable class system. You may define up to 32 different classes, each with their own health, speed, resistance, power, knockback, jump... their own items, etc. It will come with some example files :).
Another cool feature is the RWS (Random Weapon System) by Yaya (it is a fully configurable weapon system), over 10 new weapons (featuring more than 30! weapons), new items (for example, the MediPak), and a lot more.

Some of the new weapons are:
   - Plasma Gun
   - Disruptor (from Q2MP2)
   - Pulse Rifle
   - Flare gun
   - Laser Tripbomb

CTF won't be added into this version, since it seems that Zoid hasn't finished the new CTF version.

Well, there has been a month since the last update.... I'm working with the new Q2 source release, but I'm not sure if there will be a new release before the Q2CTF 3.20 source release....
Some of the new Wyrm features:
   - Improved AI (from Q2MP2 by Rogue)
   - New floating code
   - All the new features from Q2 3.20 (VWep, for example)
   - New weapons

Next update sooner! :P

Monday, November 16th
Tomorrow I will upload some screenshots showing the CTF and runes feature :). It seems to work well...
There is still a bunch of work to do... I want to add a Brazen-like flag placement, and some new features (like the Pulse Rifle, controlled spawning, new monsters, CTF hud, new menu, etc), but I hope that the new version will be released in 2 or 3 weeks.

Just some quick notes about Wyrm 2 alpha 8 development... The flare gun is nearly finished, and I'm working on adding CTF2 (by Zoid) to Wyrm... also, I'll "clean" the source, so it will be a lot more easier to update it to the new q2 source releases... I'll upload screenshots of the CTF feature soon :)

I've just added a new section on the Features page, "In Progress", where I'll place the planned enhancements for Wyrm 2.
For now, I'm working on a new monster variant (a new kind of flyer), and in some nice features (lasersight, night vision goggles). Also, I added 2 new cvars that let you control 2 q2 aspects: footsteps and weapon activating-deactivating frames, so you can define a "silent" deathmatch, and instant weapon changes.
Also, I'm working on a better javascript for this page, wich will be added really soon...

Ok, it's time for a release.
Wyrm 2 alpha 7 contains 5 new weapons:
   -Street Sweeper
   -Anti-Matter Cannon
   -Positron Beam
   -Guided Misile
   -Tripbomb

It also contains some nice features (like an improved HUD, and weapons that use more than an ammo). Just download it and read the txt file.

I think I've found a program to apply the skins without bugs... so I think that the next release will be out this week (I hope).
Maybe you've heard about a RPG PC game in project that is called Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Well, I've found this in his faq:

Q: Who is The Wyrm?

Uhm... Wyrm's development have been slowed a bit, but I hope tha ta new version will be released real soon.
I've detected the problem with the skins... it was a but of NST, the program I used to apply the skins. Now I'm trying to find a (free) skin utility to correct that problem.

There will be some changes for Wyrm 2 alpha 7:
The Faster Blaster has been substituted by a pistol
The alternative mode of the grenade will be the tripbomb

Also, I'll be working with the AMC (Anti-Matter Cannon)

Yesterday I add shell ejecting to Wyrm :) it's nice, but I think that the shell needs a better skin.
I updated the Downloads link, so you can now download Wyrm 2 a6 from it.

Friday, September 18th
Well, I'll begin to do new stuff for the next version of Wyrm 2. The altenative mode of the Railgun will be the Anti-Matter Cannon, and I'll be adding a new kind of tank (with a melee attack). I hope that the final version of Wyrm will have at least 10 monster variants ;).
Seems that CDRom's administrator don't have moved Wyrm 2 alpha 6 from the incoming directory, so if you want to download W2 a6 you must get it from the incoming directory, still. Here you've a link:

There was a problem with the soldier and the bitch skins, so I made a patch to solve it. Get it at the Downloads Section, and unzip it at your wyrm folder (restore pathnames).
